Running in 2020? You have until June 16 to change to the party you’re running in

Are you considering a political run in 2020 for a county office or the state legislature? If so, you have until June 16 to change your party to the one you wish to run under next year.

According to Taylor County Supervisor of Elections Dana Southerland, Florida Statutes declare that anyone seeking to qualify as a candidate of a political party must, at the time of subscribing to the oath or affirmation, state they have not been a registered member of any other political party for 365 days before the beginning of qualifying for the general election in which they are running.
