    Visitors attempt to smuggle contraband to TCI inmates

    A Tallahassee woman is being held on a $180,000 bond after being charged with introduction of contraband for allegedly attempting to smuggle cannabis and synthetic marijuana to an inmate at Taylor Correctional Institution (TCI).

    Zavona Letrice Akins, 35, of Tallahassee, was arrested Saturday, May 18, when correctional officers found a “golf ball size package wrapped in what appeared to be black tape, placed inside a condom, underneath her right breast” during an extensive body search.
