Travis Raleigh Beach,
82, passed away May 20, 2019, in Keaton Beach. Travis was born June 15, 1936,
in Portsmouth, Va. to Elzie Beach and Grace Braddock Beach.
Travis honorably served our country in the United States Marine Corps during
the Korean Conflict and the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War,
retiring after 28 years of service as a Senior Master Sergeant. Travis and his
wife, Faye, owned and operated Keaton Beach Marina for 15 years. He was of the
Baptist faith and was a member of Blue Creek Baptist Church. Travis enjoyed
fishing, sharing tall fishing tales and solving the world’s problems from the
front porch of Keaton Beach Marina with the morning coffee crew.
Travis was preceded in death by: his bride, Faye “Bear” Beach; his parents,
Elzie and Grace Beach; his brothers, Elzie Morris, Larry and Brad; and sisters,
LaMar and Zeila.
Travis is survived by: his children, Travis Beach, II (Sheryl), Sandy Beach
(Buddy Manning), Tracie Singletary (Joel), and MeShell Beach; nine grandchildren,
Amber (Jimmy), Heidi (Mark), Noah (Sarah), Grace (Chris), LaRee, Jess, Brant,
Trystan (Eric), and Dustin (Shawna); 10 great grandchildren; as well as a host
of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Travis’s life will be held Tuesday, May 28, at 4 p.m. at Burns
Funeral Home of Perry with Bro. David Beigle officiating. The family will
receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at Burns Funeral Home of
Perry. After the service, the family will receive friends at Goodman’s BBQ.
Those who wish can make donation to the Blue Creek Baptist Church building
fund. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
