Two-year-old dead in likely pool mishap

A two-year-old Taylor County girl died Friday, May 24 — the victim of an apparent drowning — after being found unresponsive in an above ground pool at a home in the Leisure Retreats area.

An autopsy was conducted Sunday and investigators are not releasing results at this time due to the ongoing investigation, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) Capt. Jimmy Cash said Tuesday.
