Steinahtchee man is held on a $100,000 bond after allegedly beating girlfriend

A Steinhatchee man who allegedly attacked his girlfriend and sent her to the emergency room (ER) with injuries to her head and chest is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Despite allegedly having made threats that he “would not go down without a fight” and would “do suicide by cop if it meant not going back to jail,” Ryan Blake Simmons, 39, was arrested without incident during the early morning hours of Sunday, May 26, at his residence near the campground at Tenniles.
