    Not Guilty: Jury deliberates just under an hour in murder trial of former TCI inmate

    Inmate Cordell Washington is “almost a free man” after being found not guilty of the 2015 murder of fellow state prisoner Steven Benson, following a four-day trial and less than one hour of jury deliberations on Friday, May 31.

    After hearing from 13 witnesses over the span of two days, the 12-person jury began deliberations for the first degree murder trial of Washington at 2:58 p.m. on Friday.
