    George Edward Garand

    George Edward Garand, 82, former resident of Perry, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019, in Albuquerque, N. M. George was born June 17, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pa., to George and Helen (Jones) Garand.

    George honorably served our country in the United States Air Force from 1953-1961 before moving to Flemington, N. J. where he worked as a butcher for nearly 40 years. He was married to his wife Deborah in 1996. George was formerly a member of Cornerstone Community Church, enjoyed baseball, was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and was a kind man and loving father, who would give the shirt off his back for anyone.

    George was preceded in death by both of his parents and his wife, Deborah (Martin) Garand.

    George will be loved and missed by his surviving three daughters: Vicki Ortiz of Albuquerque, NM, Donna Boyle and husband John Boyle of Batavia, Ill., and Stacy Garand of Jacksonville; two step-sons: John Kubicek of Seattle, WA and Keith Kubicek of Lambertville, N. J.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

    At his request, there will be no local services. George will be laid to rest in Flemington, N. J., and reunited with his wife, Deborah. Condolences and fond memories of George may be sent to 13401 Sutton Park Drive S #817, Jacksonville, Fla. 32224.
