Sheriff fails First Amendment ‘audit’

 A self-described “First Amendment auditor” drew an angry and profane response from Taylor County Sheriff Wayne Padgett on Wednesday when a Mayo man attempted to use his cell phone camera to video as he entered the lobby of the Taylor County Courthouse.

The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) could face a potential lawsuit after Sheriff Padgett told a blogger attempting to video to “get your ass on out of here” during an exchange at the back entrance of the courthouse Wednesday.
