Sale of Cedar Island home is stopped

Circuit Judge Greg Parker has granted a motion by Cedar Island property owner Timothy Brooks to stay the foreclosure sale originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 2, while his appeal continues at the First District Court of Appeals.

In April, Judge Parker found in favor of the Taylor County Commission in a trial held in April, orally granting a judgement of foreclosure on the property due to the $72,250 in accumulated fines that resulted from code violations dating back to 2011.
