Smith family: ‘We just want justice’

The daughter of veteran educator and JROTC instructor 1st Sgt. Eddie L. Smith wants “justice” for her father, who was killed in a December 2018 DUI-related crash in Madison County.

Smith – commonly referred to as “1st Sgt.” or “Top” by students and co-workers at Taylor County High School (TCHS) – suffered fatal injuries in a four-vehicle crash on NE Colin Kelly Highway in Madison County on Dec. 21, 2018.
