County commission donates Steinhatchee lot to Habitat for Humanity for next project

The Taylor County Commission has donated a county-owned lot in Steinhatchee to be the site of the Taylor County Habitat for Humanity’s next housing project.

According to Clerk of Court Annie Mae Murphy, the lot, located at 212 Ninth Street SE, is valued at $28,000 and was deeded to the county back in 1948 by Barney O’Quinn and his wife while developing the area.
