‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ takes a trip to Europe, but doesn’t forget to pack the humor and the heart

Following the second highest grossing film of all time is no small task, but that’s exactly what “Spider-Man: Far From Home” was facing, arriving in theaters just two months after “Avengers: Endgame.”

Fortunately, Spider-Man’s second solo outing since his incorporation into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is very much up to the task, delivering a very funny (yet equally heart-filled) adventure full of action and shocking twists and turns. While “Endgame” was the culmination of the previous 21 films, “Far From Home” is officially the final installment of the MCU’s Phase 3 as well as the overall “Infinity Saga,” which spans all 23 movies.

As such, while “Far From Home” definitely tells its own story, that tale is very much informed by the world-changing effects of “Endgame,” which I’m going to do my best to avoid spoiling in this review for those who still haven’t seen “Endgame.” I will warn you, however, that the first five minutes of this film will completely spoil many of its predecessor’s secrets.
