Dressed in a sky-blue shirt and khakis, with a dusty green pilot’s hat perched atop his head, David Greist’s face is lined with experience, but his eyes still sparkle as he recalls memories collected for more than a century.
At 101 years old, Taylor County’s newest resident has almost seen it all. Living beyond the Arctic Circle, meeting the famous Charles Lindbergh and flying 200 miles behind enemy lines are just a few of his fondest experiences.
