Beginning Monday, July 22, access to Hicks Landing boat ramp on the Fenholloway River will be blocked for brief periods of time each Monday through Friday for four weeks as workers blast a path through some 850 feet of limerock in order to install a section of Foley Cellulose Mill’s 15-mile pipeline for Georgia-Pacific (GP).
According to Fenholloway Project Leader Chet Thompson, the amount of rock discovered in the final 600 feet feet of Hampton Springs Road (where it transitions to Peterson Landing Road) was not foreseen when originally planning the project.
