Shirley Lee Kemp, 82, passed away
July 14, 2019, in Perry. Shirley was born April 1, 1937, in Perry to Horace C.
Kemp and Mamie Murphy Kemp.
Shirley was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
She worked as an operator for Gulf Telephone Company for 25 years. She
loved the outdoors and fishing was one of her many passions.
Shirley was preceded in death by: her parents, Horace C. Kemp and Mamie Murphy
Kemp; her daughter, Sherry Feagle; her brother, Claude Kemp; and her
granddaughter, Jenny Tamme.
Shirley is survived by: one brother, JC Kemp; six
grandchildren, Joy Proudman (Shawn), Lisa Swindle (Chuckie), Lee Anne Tamme
(Miguel), Kimberly Tamme, John Tamme (Kasey), and Jonathan Richey; eleven
great-grandchildren, Josh, Caitlin, Ethan, David, Kiley, Trent, Lizzy, JC,
Gage, Arie and Brooke; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A family and friends
gathering will be held Thursday, July 18, from 5-8 p.m. at Joe
P. Burns Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. All
arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
