City crews are steadily working their way down Jefferson Street, lifting manholes to pavement height following a recent re-paving project completed by the Florida Department of Transportation. “It was in the contract that we (the city) would lower and raise manholes. There are 12 manholes along Jefferson Street, and to date, six have been fixed,” Public Works Director Chester McAfee said. “We knew before they started paving that we were going to be facing this.”
