    DMH requests portion of one-cent sales tax

    As Taylor County commissioners continue work on the county’s 2019-20 budget, Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH) officials have approached the board about designating a portion of local one-cent sales tax revenues to help fund capital purchases at the hospital.

    Revenues from the local one-cent surtax are split between the county commission (2/3) and the Perry City Council (1/3) — with the county’s portion totaling around $1.8 million annually.
