    Louise Vann Alford

    Louise Vann Alford, 92, passed away July 18, 2019 in Perry. Louise was born November 25, 1926 in Lamont to John Vann and Christine Anderson Vann.
    Louise was of the Baptist faith and was a member of San Pedro Baptist Church of Perry. She owned and operated the Restaurant/Gas Station in Perry for many years. Later, she obtained her insurance license and was an insurance agent here in Perry for several years. Louise was a people person, she enjoyed visiting and talking with folks, which kept her working until she was 82.
    Louise was preceded in death by: her husband, Fred Alford; her parents, John and Christine Vann; her brothers, Franklin Vann, Philip Vann and John Henry Vann; and a granddaughter, Kristen Clark.
    She is survived by: her children, Floye C. Bennett (Dennis) and Gary “Rabbitt” Clark; her brothers, Charlie Vann (Pat) and Earl Vann (Melba); her sister, Virginia Aman (Tommy); her sister-in-law, Hazel Vann; three grandchildren, Michael Bennett, Lisa Bennett Linton (Shawn) and Helaine Clark Tedder (Adam); and five great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Adam, and Wyatt Tedder and Logan and Caleb Linton; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held Sunday, July 21, at 2 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Rev. Jim Vann officiating. Interment services followed immediately afterwards in San Pedro Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to San Pedro Baptist Church in Mrs. Alford’s honor. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
