    Glory Demple Maddox

    Glory Demple Maddox, 84, passed away July 23, 2019 in Mayo. Glory was born January 9, 1935 in Meggs, Ga. to Plinney Connel Bryant and Eva Alice Butler Bryant.

    Glory was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and love serving Him through music. She and W.H. would start services off at many local churches singing beautiful old gospel songs. She worked for Tom’s Foods for many years here in Perry. She enjoyed her garden and loved her grandchildren. In their spare time, when they could, her and W.H. enjoyed fishing.

    Glory was preceded in death by: her parents, Plinney Connel and Eva Alice Bryant; her brother, Thomas Bryant; and by her grandson, Joshua Price.

    She is survived by: her husband of 70 years, William Hendry “W.H.” Maddox; her children, Marcialene Price (Geoff) and David Maddox (Rachel); her sister, Willow Dean Tuten; three grandchildren, Ben, Ty, and Geoffrey “Trace”; and 1 great-grandchild, Yeshua; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

    A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Gary Blanton officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, at the church. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
