Blue crab traps can go back in the water beginning July 30 along Big Bend coast

    Posted on July 26, 2019

On July 30, recreational and commercial blue crab traps may be placed back in state waters from Hernando through Wakulla counties, including Taylor County and all waters of the Ochlockonee River and Bay.

This 10-day closure started July 20 and gives groups authorized by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) the opportunity to identify and retrieve lost and abandoned blue crab traps from the water.
