According to School District Finance Director Ashley Valentine, the Taylor County School District should be able to meet the school board’s goal of an 8% fund balance this coming budget year even while most local taxpayers could see a small decrease in their school board portion of their tax bill.
While expenses are projected to decrease 16.44% below the current budget — mostly due to the district no longer receiving funds for the construction of the new primary school — Valentine told school board members “there is not much room for adjustments in this budget.”
