Taylor County’s Habitat for Humanity celebrated a banner day last week, closing the chapter on a 1991 home project and opening a new chapter with a new build for 2019-20.
Board members held a symbolic “mortgage burning” with homeowners Marty and Karen Brock of Perry, who paid off their home after 28 years. The group also named Maggie Corbin and Dennis Brides of Steinhatchee as the next family who will be building a new home under the Habitat program.
