County releases TCDA’s funding

After receiving a generally favorable audit report on the Taylor County Development Authority (TDCA), the Taylor County Commission released $100,000 in budgeted operational funds to the economic development agency last week.

While all prior year findings had been corrected, and the audit showed the TCDA’s financial position had improved during the 2017-18 fiscal year, discussion of the authority’s finances raised questions over a restricted account containing the proceeds from a land sale dating back to 2014.
