Man charged with firing shotgun into apartments while five children inside

A suspect is being held on a nearly $1 million bond after allegedly firing a shotgun into two apartments on Warner Avenue – endangering the lives of five children who were at the apartments at the time, who ranged in age from two to 16.

Thomas Howard Barnes, 36, was taken into custody by police officers following a brief foot chase following the incident Sunday, July 21.
