Eleanor Jane Stephens

Eleanor Jane Stephens, 80, passed away July 24, 2019 surrounded by her family at her home in Perry. Jane was born November 7, 1938 in DeFuniak Springs to Charles Henry Scott and Unevay Padgett Scott.

Jane served as a school bus driver for 30 years. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking, fishing and sewing.

Jane was preceded in death by: her husband of over 40 years, Rufus Cary Stephens; her parents, Charles and Unevay Scott; three sisters; and two brothers.

She is survived by: three children, Susan (Frank) Hamby, Shirley (Jimmy) Sauls and Shannon (Betsy) Stephens; grandchildren, Chris Carlton, Stephanie (Todd) Holmes, Cassidy (Adam) Pridgeon and Mitchell (Ivy) Stephens; great-grandchildren, Sydney Carlton, T.J. Carlton, Cameron Holmes, Graham Holmes, Jessa Pridgeon and Andi Claire Pridgeon; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 28, at 3 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Bro. Eddie Pridgeon and Adam Pridgeon officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Carlton Cemetery. The family received friends from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
