Commission seeking bidders to harvest saw palmetto berries off 296 acres of county land

For the second year in a row, the county is seeking bidders to lease 296 acres of public land to harvest saw palmetto berries this year.

County officials are hoping for a better outcome than last year, when the harvest failed to yield a crop for Florida Grown Harvesting, LLC, of Wauchula, which was the lone bidder for the contract in 2018.
