Jury selection begins in Phelps murder trial

Jury selection began Thursday morning, July 18, for the trial of Lloyd Phelps, the Perry man charged with first-degree murder in the death of Patricia “Niece” Knight.

Phelps, 60, was arrested in September 2012 for Knight’s death–six years after the 39-year-old woman was reported missing by her mother, Carol Dean Lockett. The suspect has been held without bond since his arrest.
