The Taylor County Bulldogs’ on-the-field performance Friday night against Chiefland may have been affected by some behind-the-scenes strife, which included a group of players nearly walking out after a teammate was sent home by Head Coach Maurice Belser during the pre-game meal Friday afternoon.
The situation culminated in a series of weekend parent and player meetings and a coaches-administrative meeting that included two assistant coaches being fired by Belser and ended with Belser resigning himself during a meeting with school administrators, parents and players Sunday night in the TCHS gym.
