Thursday afternoon chase

Law enforcement vehicles filled neighborhood streets last Thursday afternoon as officers searched for a suspect wanted in connection with a stolen vehicle.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) initiated a chase of the stolen vehicle, which crashed through a fence on West Green Street. The driver then fled on foot. K-9 teams from Taylor Correctional Institution (TCI) assisted with the search and capture of the suspect, whose name was not released by FHP.

“We are waiting on some evidence to be processed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and we are working with the Third Circuit State Attorney’s Office on filing decisions as we move forward,” FHP officials said.
