Kenneth Earl Padgett, Sr. of Perry passed away on August 29, 2019, surrounded by family.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 21 years, Linda (Grisham) Padgett; children Lynn Strickland (David) of Lake City, Kenneth Earl Padgett, Jr. of Perry, and Ronald Lee Padgett (Aimee) of Chestnut Mound, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Brittany Pickett (Robbie), of Jacksonville, Jaide Strickland of Lake City, Dristin Padgett of Chestnut Mound, Tenn., Zackery Strickland of Lake City and Madison Padgett of Perry; great-grandchildren Zoey Padgett of Chestnut Mound, Tenn., and to arrive in November, Blakely Pickett; brothers; Wayne Padgett (Gerry) and Don Padgett; nephews Brian Padgett and Michael Padgett; and nieces Stacey White and Jennifer Padgett; and extended family and lifelong friends.
Kenneth was escorted to Heaven by his parents; Doris Jean Hendrix Padgett and Harold Padgett and brother Gary Padgett.
Kenneth was the patriarch of the family. He taught his family how to love everyone and how to love music.
Kenneth proudly served two tours in Vietnam for the United States Army and loved his country. When he returned he became a forest fire ranger and then a corrections officer.
After retirement, he loved to feel the wind in his hair while riding his moped and take mini adventures. Music had a big place in his heart. Kenneth enjoyed playing his guitar, singing songs and hosting jams sessions at the family “Sugar Shack.” He also loved FSU football.
Kenneth will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 21, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the San Pedro Baptist Church located at 4420 San Pedro Road, Perry, Fla., 32347.
