Patricia English Punda, 66, fondly known as “Miss Patti,” died peacefully at home in Perry while holding her husband Jonathan’s hand on Sept. 9, 2019. She was born in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 26, 1952, to Raymond Garland English and Grace Ford English.
Patti graduated from Oak Ridge High School in Orlando and attended Valencia Junior College. On Dec. 16, 1972, she married Jonathan Vernon Punda, and they enjoyed nearly 47 years of marriage together.
After moving to Perry, she started out selling insurance, but soon became an integral partner in her husband’s family business. Having a natural knack for all things crafty, her passion was creating handcrafted jewelry in her spare time. However, her greatest joy and accomplishment was her family.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Raymond and Grace English of Perry.
Survivors include: her husband, Jonathan Vernon Punda of Perry; one son, Jason Vernon Punda of Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter, Stephanie Jean Sharpe and husband, Benjamin, of Perry; three grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madeline and Alexander Sharpe; one brother, James English of Everett, Wash.; and a large extended family.
Her friendly demeanor and sweet spirit endeared her to many as she lived a life full of love and laughter.
A memorial service for Mrs. Punda will be held at a later date at First Presbyterian Church, where she was a faithful member and active choir participant.
