Wilma Burke

Wilma Burke, 75, of Alford, Fla., passed away peacefully October 25, 2019, in Tallahassee after an extended illness.

Born September 18, 1944, in Panama City, she spent her childhood and young adult years in Perry. She later settled in Marianna and Alford.

She deeply loved her family and was their dedicated caregiver.

She found beauty in all of nature and took pleasure from her plants and yard.

She was the daughter of the late John W. Burke and Jeanette Mathews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Johnny R. Burke.

Survivors include son Steven Buckhalter (Ann) of Tallahassee, and sister Janie Sheffield of Perry. She is also survived by grandchildren Georgia (Craig) Thompson of Miami, Matthew (Tara) Buckhalter of Atlanta, Ga., and great grandchildren Price and Wyndham Thompson of Miami, sister-in-law Nilda Burke of Panama City, nephews Jerry and Brad Sheffield of Perry, Alex Burke of Panama City, and special friend Reb Martin of Bonifay, Fla.

A service was held October 29th at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home, Marianna.
