Bomb threat ends school

One of at least three handwritten bomb threats — apparently mailed by an out-of-state inmate — prompted early dismissals for Taylor County schools Monday after he warned a bomb would explode at an unnamed school unless officials met his demand for $1 million be sent to a Swiss bank account.

All seven local public schools, two local private schools, the Boys & Girls Club and even some local businesses were affected by the early dismissal, as parents raced to pick up students when word spread.
