The Taylor County Commission will receive a total of $545,851 in funds being returned from local constitutional officers, the largest amount returned to county coffers in years, due in large part to $414,000 from Sheriff Wayne Padgett.
Each November, constitutional officers turn in any unspent funds from the previous fiscal year — which ended Sept. 30 — as well as unanticipated revenues collected during the year.
