Christmas displays to light up downtown park

    Posted on November 20, 2019

The Taylor County Historical Society is teaming up with the City of Perry to “Light Up Rosehead Park” for the holiday season.

Local businesses, churches, civic organizations and residents are invited to set up Christmas light displays at Rosehead Park in downtown Perry. A $25 donation to the Taylor County Historical Society will reserve your spot today.

“Decorating a display and putting your name with it will help bring attention to your business organization or family. It will also encourage people to come downtown, shop locally and help support our small businesses who help support all of us year-round,” Coordinator J.T. Davis said.

All displays must be family-friendly. LED lights are encouraged in order to avoid overloading circuits, and timers should be set from 6 p.m. to midnight.

Forms are available at the Historical Society, which is open every Thursday from 1-5 p.m., and at the office of Perry Newspapers, located at 123 South Jefferson Street.
