6U War Eagles win state title; 10U, 12U get wild card berths

The local Boys & Girls Club-sponsored Taylor County War Eagles’ tackle football program advanced three teams to the state championship round last weekend, and brought home one state title to Perry.

While the local 6-and-under (6U) squad was the only team crowned champions, the 10U and 12U squads both managed to clinch a wildcard invitation to the national tournament in Tampa on Dec. 7-13.
