Jeanette Puckett Perrine of Wauchula, Fla., passed away on November 16, 2019, in Wauchula, Fla. She was born on February 7, 1935, in Valdosta, Ga. She was a member of the Wauchula community for 56 years, having moved there in 1963.

Jeanette received a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a master’s degree in Vocational Education from the University of South Florida.

She was a devoted educator for many years – was even awarded “Vocational Teacher of the Year” – and was a member of the Taylor County and Hardee County School Boards before retiring to become an antiques dealer.

She also belonged to many clubs and organizations, spending much of her time in the communities she loved: The Junior Women’s Club of Perry, the Pink Lady, the Wauchula Garden Club and the Advisory Committee for CECF just to name a few.

Jeanette was also strong in her Christian faith, being the choir director of St. Jame’s Episcopal Church in Perry, and a member of St. Ann’s Episcopal in Wauchula and the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Avon Park.

Her family will remember her as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who among all her wonderful achievements also made time for her favorite hobbies.

Antiques and “junking” at yard sales, gardening and cooking were among her favorites; she also enjoyed her crafts, such as scalloping and making Christmas ornaments and holiday decorations.

Above all else, she adored spending time with her beloved family and friends, be it by preparing a homecooked meal or through a lively game of bridge.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Bruce W. Perrine, Sr.; her children: son Bruce Perrine, Jr. and Suzanne of Apopka, Fla., and daughters Tammy Perrine of Wauchula, Fla., and Kim Davis and husband Donnie of Dover, Fla.; as well as two nieces and one nephew, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 205 N. 9th Ave., in Wauchula.

Memorial Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the chapel with Father Bill Yates from Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church of Avon Park, FL. and Jay Puckett.
