Anglers can kick-off the holiday season with family, friends and spiced eggnog this Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Tailin’ Toads Eggnog Open Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) fishing tournament.
Registration and check in is today (Friday) from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at Sea Hag, with a captain’s meeting to follow at 7 p.m.
This event will cost $100 per two angler team or $50 per kayak team.
From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., anglers will be competing for the winning redfish and trout.
All fish must be weighed alive. Payouts will be awarded to the heaviest bag consisting of two legal trout and a slot redfish.
There will be $20 side pots for heaviest redfish and heaviest trout, as well as a CPR (Catch, Photo & Release) tournament for the two biggest redfish and one trout in total number of inches.
The total payout will be determined based on the number of entries in each division.
Anglers must launch from the Steinhatchee/Jena area.
Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to promote conservation and youth education by participating in a raffle and silent auction to benefit the CCA Florida Star Youth Scholarship Fund. The raffle and silent auction will be held on Friday evening, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7 during the live weigh-in and awards presentation.
The raffle and auctions will include items, such as fishing tackle and marine electronics from Bull Bay rods, Minn Kota, Humminbird, LIVETARGET, Power Pole, Gillz Performance Fishing, Tailin’ Toads, Knotty Tails, Costa Sunglasses and more.
