    DMH EMS may need life support

    Due to increasing costs and falling revenues, Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH) officials say they can no longer continue to operate emergency medical services (EMS) under the current agreement with the Taylor County Commission.

    During a special workshop held Monday evening that lasted an hour, DMH Board Vice-Chair Pat Barbaree outlined the financial woes facing the EMS program as well as possible solutions including increasing the $450,000 annual subsidy provided to DMH by the commission to offset the cost of running EMS.
