City of Perry Fire Department Capt. Elton Carraway (center, right) and fellow firefighters Ryan Thompson and Charles Watson accept a $10,000 check from GP Foley Public Affairs Manager Scott Mixon. The grant presentation was made during the Perry City Council’s December meeting Wednesday. Also shown (left to right) are Councilman Ward Ketring, Councilwoman Venita Woodfaulk and Mayor Alan Hall along with GP Foley Mill Fire Chief Brian Miller.

The City of Perry Fire Department was one of more than 30 fire departments awarded a Georgia-Pacific (GP) Bucket Brigade grant this year, receiving $10,000 to help fund equipment needed to keep firefighters safe and respond to emergency situations in our community.

“It’s critical that we help meet the needs of first responders in our community,” said GP Public Affairs Manager Scott Mixon. “We depend on them to keep us safe each day, and they can certainly depend on our support for their safety.”
