‘Odd Couple’ draws big laughs

By all accounts, the debut production of Taylor County’s new theatre group — Cast & Company Drama Group — was a rousing success, with more than 100 people in attendance Saturday evening for “The Odd Couple (Female Version),” a revision of Neil Simon’s hugely successful play, “The Odd Couple.”

As the lights dimmed to alert the audience the show was about to begin, directors Tonya Benziger and Kelli Johnson briefly took the stage to welcome everyone and thank them for attending. Then Benziger led everyone in a few “exercises” to get the audience ready to cheer, laugh and “aww” for the cast.
