Mrs. Lorene Young, 90, passed away December 14, 2019, at her residence in Perry.
Lorene was born July 13, 1929, in Alma, Ga., to Ambers Neeley and Iva Lee Thomas White.
Lorene was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
She was an avid league bowler and a member of the 200 club, as well as the 600 club.
She loved playing a good game of cards with her grandchildren and great-grands.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents Ambers and Iva Lee White, her husband Georg A. Young, as well as three brothers Drexel White, Doris “Whitey” White and Dennard “DL” White and one sister Shelva Jean Tridico.
She is survived by her daughter Gwendolyn Foskey, 13 grandchildren: Aaron, Sabra, Eric, Selena, Derek, Sarah, Sabrina, Darrin, William, Amanda, Hannah, Jacob, and Emilia, 38 great grandchildren, two sisters Thelma Jackson of Tennessee, and Audrey Faye Burton of North Carolina, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, at 6 p.m. at Church of God of Prophecy, 613 Hampton Springs Ave, with Pastor Connie Mote officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18 at the church.
