‘I prayed for bombers to wipe out North Korea completely’

Ed Sheffield was no stranger to hard work when he joined the U.S. Army just a few months before his 19th birthday.

Born and raised in the small community of Cabbage Grove on the far western border of Taylor County, he learned the value of hard work from an early age, helping his father on their small farm and taking whatever odd jobs he could find.
