The Friends of the Taylor County Public Library will present authors Rose Knox and Graham Schorb during its monthly meeting Monday, Jan. 27, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Knox, a North Florida College writing and literature instructor, and Graham Schorb, a North Florida avid outdoorsman and river guide, are authors of “Old Tales of the Forgotten South in a Georgia-Florida Swamp: Paddling Okefenokee” and “Canoeing and Camping on the Historic Suwannee River: a Paddler’s Guide.”
They will share a multi-media program on their latest book, “Old Tales of the Forgotten South in a Georgia-Florida Swamp: Paddling Okefenokee,” which gives an appreciation for a delicate ecosystem that rivals any wetland in the world.
The book contains historical and cultural information concerning South Georgia and North Florida; the greater Celtic and European migrations; and about the immigrants that ended up being swamp dwellers in the Okefenokee.
Light refreshments will be served, and a drawing will be held for a door prize.
The free program will be held at the Taylor County Public Library, located at 403 N. Washington St.
