At their Jan. 14 meeting, city council members received an update from Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) officials concerning upcoming public comment opportunities on the proposed Suncoast Connector toll road.
Last year, Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill passed by the Florida Legislature creating a program known as Multi-use Corridors of Regional Economic Significance (M-CORES), which is intended to “revitalize rural communities, encourage job creation and provide regional connectivity while leveraging technology, enhancing the quality of life and public safety and protecting the environment and natural resources.”
