    Posted on January 24, 2020

Mrs. Marjorie “Margie” Louise Summerlin Eaddy, 91, passed away on January 22, 2020, at her home in Perry. Margie was born May 15, 1928, in Thomasville, Ga., to Mr. and Mrs. Pop Causey.

Margie volunteered with a mentoring program at the Perry Primary school, worked in the nursery at her church for many years and was the church librarian. She was also the coordinator of the church hospitality ministry. She enjoyed playing the card game “hand and feet” and loved crafts and constantly had a project in the works. She was the original “repurposer” of all sorts of mundane materials and made them into artistic creations. She leaves behind a legion of fellow senior center devotees.

Margie was preceded in death by her mother Mrs. Roberta Causey, her husband of almost 50 years R. J. Summerlin, and her second husband Earl Eaddy.

She is survived by five children, Bob and Marilyn Summerlin, Wayne and Suzanne Summerlin, Sharon Barnes, Ronald and Amy Summerlin, Terry Summerlin; 13 grandchildren: Greg (Laurie) Summerlin, Staci (Jim) Crawford, Mike Bradford, Jeff (Rebecca) Bradford, John Summerlin, Kelle Summerlin, Katie Summerlin, Shannon (Johnny) Starling, Lindsay Summerlin, Jeremy Summerlin, Mason Summerlin and Mitchell Summerlin; three sisters-in-law, Gladys, Ann, and Jackie Summerlin; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 26 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Perry with Pastor Steven Ruff officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Pineview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, January 25 at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home.
