Evelyn Louise Blue, 82, passed away surrounded by her family on January 26, 2020, at her home in Perry, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Blue was born February 8, 1937, in Perry to Zim Jordan Gunter and Annie Ruth Ratliff Gunter.
Louise was a graduate of Taylor County High School and worked with the City of Perry as a bookkeeper for 33 years. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Perry as well as a member of the Perry Chapter #98 Order of the Eastern Star.
In her spare time she enjoyed fishing and shopping.
She was preceded in death by; her
parents, Zim and Ruth Gunter; her husband, Sam Blue; her son, Ralph Blue; and a
great-grandson, Hannon Mitchell.
She is survived by: two daughters, Shannon Mathis, and husband Eddie, of Perry,
and Teresa Miller, of Wildwood; a sister, Ruthie Mae Parker, of Perry; as well
as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral Services will be held in Pisgah Cemetery at 12 p.m. on
Wednesday, January 29, with Bro. Danny Lundy officiating. The family will
receive friends from 11-11:30 a.m. prior to the service at Burns Funeral Home
of Perry. All arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
