Several dozen local residents attended a Suncoast Corridor Community Open House hosted by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) at Forest Capital Hall Monday evening.
While there were plenty of displays and maps, the actual location of the proposed toll road has not yet been identified. The open house provided the public the opportunity to view displays and interactive maps, as well as speak one-on-one with FDOT staff, ask questions and provide input. There was no formal presentation, but FDOT staff nearly out-numbered members of the public and were available to answer questions as well as to hand out information on the Multi-use Corridors of Regional Economic Significance (M-CORES) program established by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis last year.
