Local teachers and students will soon be getting “back to basics,” according to Superintendent of Schools Dr. Danny Glover Jr., who recently notified all school employees that Florida schools will be doing away with Common Core curriculum and converting to a more simplified approach.
Governor Ron DeSantis officially announced Friday that Florida will be replacing Common Core with Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) standards in the coming years.
