Monday crash

No serious injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash that happened Monday in front of the Star Food Mart. The driver of the Kia Optima (above) was cited for careless driving after turning left in front of a white pick-up truck as it was traveling south on Jefferson Street.

The truck hit the passenger side of the car, sending it into a 360-degree spin and pushing it into the front yard of a residence located across the street. Three people in the car were transported to Doctors’ Memorial Hospital; the driver of the truck was treated at the scene.
